Purchased by father Ron new at Roy Bros of Croydon for the huge total of 1200 pounds (a lot of money in 1958) with a small loan from the NRMA at the model change from FE to FC, this is the story of  our car.

I came home in the car from hospital as a baby. It was our family car for 21 years and was pampered from day 1 because dad didn't think he would ever be able to afford another new car, It was his first car. The car took us on many enjoyable family picnics and holidays, it never let us down.

To our surprise in 1975 dad bought his second new car a Holden Kingswood. The FE was used to teach my sister and I to drive and in 1978 he gave me full ownership of the car. My sister had been given a piano some years before so this made us equal.

I drove it for about ten years maintaining it painting and having a reconditioned engine fitted. I drove the car while courting my girlfriend whom I married. The car was driven on our honeymoon and on trips until I was fortunate enough to receive a company car, at which time the car was placed into storage jacked up and covered up and where it remained for 8 years.

The car has never been fully restored just maintained to a high standard. Accessories are a must and the car has many as these cars were very basic. The Nasco accessories include, sun-visor, side mirrors, wheel trims, radio, taxi rail, fan, heater / demister, parcel shelf ,petrol fill guard, fender markers, stainless sill covers, twin weather shields, locking petrol cap, mud flaps, rear wheel spats, ventee’s and day/night mirror.

The car is now driven on club events and our Nationals, 2 of which include Jindabyne and Phillip Island. Our 2 daughters Kathryn and Melissa enjoy riding in it especially the long country trips.

I have no intention of ever selling this car as it is part on my life and part of Australia’s driving and automobile history. The car has won prizes such as Holden's car of the day at the 1998 All Holden Day (50years of Holden) that was a great thrill, and 2nd place at 2 of our Fe/FC national events in the stock class. The car featured in Australian Classic Car in July 2006, 50 years of FE.
