I bought this car for $2200 thinking I got a bargain. But it was a lemon. A lemon I spent a little too much on, but boy it goes now.

It is a 1986.5 MkIII Toyota Supra. However, under the bonnet, I removed the horrific 3.0L 7M-GE N/A engine and Automatic gearbox with a 1JZ-GTTE (the TT for twin turbo) and a R154 manual gearbox. I’ve also fitted it with a 3” exhaust and a high flow catalytic converter.

However the story isn’t that suave and silky smooth… I mean is it ever???

After I got the car home I found the big end bearing was busted, the centre shaft bearing was busted, the rear right wheel bearing was busted and the car smelled funny.

When I took it in to have the engine and transmission conversion I seriously wasn’t in the know-how or had the proper finance to do it. However I went with it anyway and one year later it still wasn’t running. However here it is! Working and moving!

Enjoy.

Laurent.
