Nick's 351 powered Cruiser

This is my 1985 60 series Toyota Land Cruiser. I purchased it for
3500 dollars approximately 2 years ago and it is stock standard other than
the sun raiser wheels and the dual fuel LPG setup. The car is bulletproof guys.
Cant break the bloody thing and as you see on the photos and the videos I love
to get out and get it dirty. My favorite place for offroading is White-rock
in menai in NSW. It is close to home and allot of fun to drive in.
Future list of modifications is going to be spotlights, Side steps, Winch, Compressor, Air lockers, 5 speed manual conversion and V8 conversion. I am really looking forward to the manual conversion as it really goes nowhere in a hurry. Sometimes almost goes backwards up hills. IS really upsetting stuff.
As you can see it was no small conversion. The old engine
and gearbox was removed, the old engine mounts chopped off the chassis rails
and all fuel lines removed. This means this vehicle can never go back to
where it was before. The engine had a bit of money spent on it too. Here
is a brief list of the mod's:
* Forged Pistons
* Chrome molly rings
* High volume oil ump
* Redline torker 2V open plain manifold
* 2V heads, flowed to 500HP with manley stainless valves and inserts
* 302 6 inch rod combo
* Stage 2 Hydraulic Camshaft (Flat tappet)
* Fully balance motor
* Roll on timing chain
* Felpro Gasket kit.
* 4MA Crankshaft
In all the conversion owes me some between 7-8 grand. It was either convert my cruiser into a weapon or buy myself a F100 Bronco. I preferred the previous as it made my truck a unique vehicle with the best of everything I wanted. Toyota bulletproof running gear and ford heart of gold. The Gearbox I used was out of a 60 series diesel . The ratios are much lower on the diesel 5 speeds and it really gets the truck off the mark like a shot with those ratios and yet still has enough freeway rpm reduction in 5th gear. In all my truck now real gets up and goes. No more slowing down climbing hills. It climbs them effortlessly. Really tows great now.
