Myself I own a 1976 Lx SLR 5000 Torrana and purchased it 2.5 years ago. 2 Years ago I put in a 308 that was a mild build and won me some trophy's at our local 8th mile track. In june the motor was blown up by a Dyno tuner when I wasn't their and so that great motor is gone as it was 80 thou up and stretched a rod bolt and let a bearing go. Anyway the best event was coming up and I decided to go to the wreckers and to buy a motor just for the weekend and if you look on you tube under plucker's lx you will see the $250 253 I purchased in action. I then got 2nd in the go to woa as well and the motor is still running.lol
The motor is Tunnel ramed with twin 450 mac sec Holley carbs, Manual
trimatic gearbox 3500 dominator stall convertor, 9" diff with 3.9 gears line
locker, twin thermo 4 core radiator, electric water pump, 120 amp
alternator, 10mm top gun leads, pro comp electric fuel pump with half inch
lines, pro comp coil and hopefully a 355 stroker to come soon
