Tony's GTIR 1993 SR20t

I brought the car over from japan in 2003 and after 3 months of waiting
for compliance and rego the car finally was put on the road.  In that
time I threw away the standard 14" wheels and put on a set of sexy 18"
chrome Zenetti wheels, front mount inter cooler and new alarm.  While the
alarm guy was getting his work done he informed that the computer had
been played around with.  We did not know to the full extent until i pulled
the t-piece off and was wheel spinning on All 4 wheels with 26 pound boost.
No spitting or splattering and no pinging.  I do keep the car at
standard boost of 7 pound due to gearboxes not being cheap.  After
spending close to $10k just on gearboxes I decided it was not worth the
thrill, as it was a big thrill to my pocket.  After 2 years of driving
around I took the car off the road for 6 months and started playing
around.  What started to be a basic sound system turned into a boot full
of fiberglass and hydraulics and some serious bass and clarity.  While
off the road i also changed all the bushes, engine mounts, cvs and quite
a few little things that add up.  Finally had the car back on the road with
an entertainment system ready to roll.  Driving to Melbourne from Sydney
is a breeze while watching my favorite DVD's.  The Police are an issue because
of the exhaust, but I have passed every test for emissions and
decibels.  Yet I constantly get hammered for it.  After talking about the
car with the officers 90% of the time they just let me go, as they
appreciate it more than think I am just a young hoon.  The car sits on a
set of Japanese branded adjustable shocks and suspension making the
drive quite pleasurable.
