The Lancia , Fiat And Alfa Romeo Event was held in Earlwood at Gough Witlam
Park on a beautiful sunny Sunday. With a collection of Fiat's Lanciers and
Alfa Romeo's there was something to look at everywhere you turned. We all
enjoyed looking at some of these weird and wonderful machines. They comprised
elegance and a suprizing amount of influence on today's manufacturers.
Personal favorites on the day were the Fiat 124 and the little Nikki converted to a rally car. No-one would ever accept that it would be race material. The event was also a good chance to see some late model Alfa Romeo models which have a styling of their own. Elegant and distinctly european they boast technology far beyond their time.
The technological advances of the Alfa Romeo are definitely nothing to be sneezed at. The Alfa Romeo cars featured a twin cam high output engine which compared to today's standards performed comparatively with cars of today's era. The infamous twin cam engine now makes a cameo appearance in most new model cars of today. Just goes to show how technology has been influenced by these magnificent vehicles.
