Round 5 of the Summernationals were held at the Western Sydney International
Drag way once again on an overcast day yet it was still not a disappointment.
A true exhibition of muscle , power and performance. One of the Mishaps
of the day we witnessed was a Torana hitting the wall at 3/4 track. Luckily
no - one was hurt and racing resumed shortly afterwards..
A special thanks to wynn's must go out for granting us an interview with Amanda Shepherd and Luke Shepherd. On the day 17 year old Amanda beat Phil read in an upset win leaving the crowd in awe. Feel free to watch our exclusive interview with Amanda and luke to gain an awesome insight into these two young promising stars of tomorrow.
The flavour of the day definitely had to be the top fuel dragsters and also the supercharged outlaws. Absolutely monstrous machines !
The Junior dragsters were also a sight to see. A way for young children to get involved in this sport with surprising performance coming from their single cylinder side valve engines. Most would attribute these little engines to "Lawnmower Engines" however they definitely performed beyond everybody's expectation.
Well done WSID and competitors for another great drag racing event. We look forward to covering it again next year.
